Prayer Guide

“Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ…” (Colossians 4:3)

“Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join in my struggle by praying to God for me.”  (Romans 15:30)

There are numerous occasions when Paul asked his friends for prayer as he ministered to others and taught about Christ.  In the same way, we would love to have each of you “join in our struggle by praying to God for us.”  It is in His name that we serve…

Pray for the Team

  • Pray for the clarity of God’s mission as we obey His command to make disciples in all nations and teach them what it means to follow Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).
  • Pray for unity among the members of this team, that we would be of one mind and spirit (John 17:22-23).
  • Pray for each one of us to have a servant’s heart (Galatians 5:13-14; Mark 10:43-45).
  • Pray that we would allow the Holy Spirit to guide us and follow His leading in our lives (Galatians 5:16, 25).
  • Pray that each team member would set aside time to spend with God in His Word each day (John 15:5).
  • Ask the Lord to empower us with inner strength through His Spirit (Ephesians 3:16).

Pray for those in Uganda

  • Pray for the students at the schools, that they might come to know and understand the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:18-19).
  • Pray that others will be able to experience God’s love through us (1 John 4:12).
  • Pray that Satan would be prevented from blinding unbelievers from the Truth (2 Corinthians 4:4).
  • Pray for unbelievers to come to faith, believing what they hear from the Word of God (Romans 10:9-10, 17; John 5:24).
  • Pray that they would take root and grow in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7).
  • Pray that the Scripture Union staff will be encouraged by our fellowship, service, and prayers (1 Thessalonians 5:11; Romans 1:12).
  • Pray for the Scripture Union staff, that they might “always be filled with the fruit of their salvation” and continue bringing glory to God (Philippians 1:11).
